Welcome to ONEFOOTINTHEGROOVE.COM, a website tracking the musical career of one Peter Conway, a bass guitarist, stock market wheeler-dealer and part-time Company Director from Lawford, Essex.

Now in his early fifties, Peter is still slapping his bass with his latest band, One Foot in the Groove, of which he is the most senior member! However, things were not always that way, as we'll discover along the way....

During his illustrious career, Peter played alongside a variety of famous names, including Jimmy Pilgrim and the Classics, Fleetwood Mac, The Who and a little-heard of musician by the name of Jimmy Hendrix, but not before he'd picked up a thing or two from Jimmy Page, whom he was at school with.

It is also a little-known fact that Peter was actually the original Paul McCartney*, opting to change places with an unknown lookalike to escape the trappings of fame and fortune when they beckoned.

So it will come as no suprise that normality, a business and a mortgage caught up with Peter, and the arrival of his wife Tanis, and then later his 'children' (monsters??) Greg, Phil, Rob and Anna saw Peter waving adios to musical freedom and a life of Rock and Roll.

But of course, you can't keep a good thing down, and so once the kids had started to vacate (ignoring the fact that they keep deciding to come back), Peter hooked up with a new crew, Crying Out Loud, and once again hit the road.
